What if every card you pulled wasn’t just a message, but a sensation?
The Tarot of Colors, now live on Kickstarter, offers an intuitive and sensory approach to tarot. Created by Carolyn Zing, this 78-card deck explores emotional healing through pure color. This beautifully watercolor painted deck invokes a divination experience stripped of iconography and overt symbolism, designed instead to guide readers through mood, memory, and visceral response.

I love how each card is a canvas of carefully chosen hues, some soft and pastel, others saturated and deep. If you pay attention to the subjects in the cards, you’ll find that beneath this minimalist aesthetic lies a complex emotional language. It’s refreshing to see a deck without the traditional figures and symbols, it makes you want to connect with the cards more personally, free from cultural bias or preconceived imagery.
The deck is accompanied by a guidebook that ties each color to a traditional tarot meaning, but readers are encouraged to feel before they interpret. “How do you respond to this red? Does it feel hot and angry, or warm and safe?” The invitation is less about prediction and more about presence.
Zing’s project is deeply personal. She began developing The Tarot of Colors after a period of burnout, when traditional tarot readings began to feel overwhelming. Her training in art therapy and color theory, combined with over a decade of tarot experience, gave rise to this new format—one that felt accessible even in moments of emotional shutdown.

Carolyn Zing is no stranger to reinvention. Known for her past work in creative wellness spaces, she brings a thoughtful, therapeutic ethos to everything she creates. With The Tarot of Colors, she’s offering a deck not just for divination, but for emotional restoration.
At time of writing, the campaign has exceeded its goal with over a month to go.

For those looking to reconnect with intuition through a gentler, more embodied lens, The Tarot of Colors offers a welcome shift—one hue at a time.
