I definitely am not a gardener, but there’s something undeniably enchanting about a well-tended garden, its smell, quiet rhythms, and the slow, contemplative pleasure of watching life bloom in secret corners. With Secret Garden Tarot Deck, creators Lotta Glybotskaia, Tatyana Zaslavskaya and Andrey Glybotsky unveil a luminous tarot deck inspired by the plant lore, art history, and botanical symbolism of the Renaissance. This deck is deeply personal, Lotta describes it as her most intimate project yet, blending her passions for visual symbolism, illustration, and quiet creativity.

In some tarot decks, the illustrations take center stage. But for the Secret Garden Tarot Deck, it feels like everything is thought through. The deck’s artwork is richly hand-painted, set within a lush secret garden that evokes both majesty and mystery. Beyond imagery, the card and tuck box design is studded with layers of meaning: hidden flora, alchemical details, and interwoven glyphs designed to reward close attention. The red rim (is there a better word?) of the card is extremely lush and rich.

Each image is packed with allegorical detail: a Major Arcana figure might carry a medicinal herb instead of a wand, or be accompanied by an animal chosen for its mythological resonance. Court cards channel the astrological and elemental associations of traditional Renaissance magic, offering a subtle reinterpretation of their archetypes.

Lotta shares that this project fulfills a long-held longing. She wanted to work with botanical imagery, renaissance influence, and hand-painted style—a synergy that represents her most personal creative expression to date. Amid a tarot market growing more digital and pop‑themed, this deck offers calm, contemplation, and depth.
The deck starts from $45 on Kickstarter, with additional add-ons like this fabulous flower goblet that I absolutely need.
